Angel Eyes
Jazz feel--slow
Upright bass and trombone on the intro got my attention right away; along with all the other big band instruments(horns especially); give this jazzy styled song a lot class--and the trade-off with the guitar and clarinet on the bridge to the verse, was also nice and tasty. The guitar has an old style jazz sound and feel; inorder to sell an instrumental like this one, the lead instrument has to say something--and the guitar has that easy listening quality that keeps you listening throughout all the passages; and the piano(good player) happens to be icing to the guitar on this song--very nice keyboards. The upright bass and the drums(playing with brushes--may I add), are mixed just right--I can hear all the parts(snare, bass drum, and cymbals), and the upright has that deep rich growl to the low notes(unmistakeable). The horn parts are all nicely layered(clarinet--trombone--alto sax); sweet and tasteful, placed in the proper places within this arrangement; giving this song an old style, yet very professional sound. Listen to this song on late night jazz radio; that's where it should be.

Smooth and Jazzy
Easy, smooth guitars licks remind me of George Benson's sound at bit. The interplay with the git and horns was nice. Horns are a nice touch and really accent the overrall mood of this song. Easy going and confidently play, makes me want to hear this again. I've gotten a lot more into jazz recently and appreciated this.

Classic Jazz Blues
This is a very authentic sounding recording with a turn of the century jazz vibe with arranged brass, piano, stand up bass, Kenny Burrell like guitar chops etc. In other words an updated production of music that could have been written 85 years ago. I'll leave the reader to bone up on his/her jazz history but there are echoes of Armstrong, Biederbecke, Billy Holiday(if it were a vocal tune which it could well have been) and guys who's names will never be well known. Ofcourse I liked it or I wouldn't take the time to review it.Paying homage to this great music by taking time, expense, talent with humility, and great care is a worthwhile endeavor. The electric guitar is really the major update because the era this music is derived from didn't use them. They did not exist. I cited Kenny Burrell as one stylistic mentor for the guitar style showcased here. He had a deep affinity for the blues and although he performed throughout the 60's in the era of Wes Montgomery, employed a more reserved somewhat less virtuostic style. I found it eminently but not surprisingly appropriate in this period piece. Gee wiz the horns are beautifully arranged and mixed so you experience them as a whole, hardly individually as though they were one continuous instrument. Simply flawless ! The mood must be expressed poetically,(end of night smokey room, mildly medicated, atmospheric existential moods, stereotypical Madison Avenue depictions as depicted in Flonase audio video sound bytes aside, this piece rocks in every way that truly matters!

Perfect parlor playing
This tune is soooo sexy - I've just melted in a pool on the floor. Everything is perrrfect to create the right mood. Nice to hear some original lead guitar, from a player who's brave enough to play slowly. Beautiful stand-up bass walking up and down my spine. Lovely sax sounding as close to a clarinet as it dares (or is a clarinet sounding as much like a sax as it dares?) - either way it walks the line perfectly. Can I come home with you please?

Yum yum a sad bone
Nice break from screaming guitars, acoustic blues are my friend. Nice upridgt sound, nice laid back feel. nice break from the same old 1 4 5 I really like the bone sound and the subtle sax.I could almost smell the cigerettes in the dark lounge. Almost like a pink panther mellow thing. way nice sirs. I heard maybe 2 chords on the guitar and it is very hard carying a tune with subtle little riffs like that. It fills out very very nice. Thank you. 7 minutes was easy on this one

The Mood!
Starts off with that great Tom Waites like feel & you're immediately transported to a downtown bar at 3am or perhaps a lonely club with a few lazy dancers hanging off each other. Great jazz guitar, (got to hand it to you for being so restrained) & a horn sound we don't get to hear so much these days. Fantastic job I enjoyed it a lot & will follow up on your other stuff (if any)

Great Song Play it Again!
Dark Sunglasses, Smokey night club air, having a bourbon on the rocks. Watchin' the band play the night away. The visual I get listening to this polished band. What a great sound you have going here. The acoustic bass notes cutting through the melodic, hypnotic, groove. soothing my soul. The steady tapping of the symbols like the rain falling on the wet streets outside. The alleycat guitar riffs anwsered by the cry of the sax. I like it here, I think I'll stay till the joint closes.

New york 1942
This is somthing that you'd hear in some lounge in New york in the 40s. It's got a classic vibe to it. Its mood is laid back and mellow. Nice Jazzy guitar playin. The Horns really add a touch of class to this already classy tune.

very smooth i can tell these are some solid players. the guitars sound great. the tones are nice, they are recorded well, and sound great in the mix. the horn section in also great i really like the (i know im spelling this wrong or if its even the right instrument) claronet in this track, gives it real unique sound. the moood is very relaxing. i play heavy metal / punk music, but this is great relaxation music. the drums are smooth as well those stroks are so clean.

Sweet Guitar Jazzzy Blues
This song has a nice relaxed feel seems like a soundtrack for film that takes place in an after-hours sort of place. Nice interplay between the horns, not too busy noone crowding in. Would like to have heard them just a little more present in places. Around 4:30 this track really gels. Overall Excellent Effort and Excellent quality playing.

Relax
A very nice calming feeling came over me right from the beginning. I pictured myself in front of a fire with wine and a book. Soft notes on the guitar but still sharp and crisp. Horns took me back to 20's and 30's swing and night clubs. A quartet with sultry feeling and emotion. Well done.
