Uplifting
This song put a smile on my face. I can't explain why exactly, maybe it was he female vocals, along side the extremly true lyrics put next to them. All in all you made an uplifting song out of a depressing subject.

Prime Time Lounge Listening
Several cocktails into the evening and this track would force you up and onto the dance floor. Really tight sound with a lot of musical activity coming at you. After a while the melody fades away and your caught up in the percussion and bass drone.

Funky ...
'Tell me no lies' Well I'll try not to ... this is a funky, infectuous, highly danceable ditty that was tailer made for the smokey or smoke-free dance halls and lounges. I know a popular local R&B band that would love to have written this song. If they could afford it I'm sure they'd license it out from you ! Who do you sound like ? Gee, I don't know but you sound pretty cool. The male vocalist has a low Tom Petty thing happening, who was heavily influenced by Bob Dylan. So he's not a great singer by any stretch but interesting enough and smart enough to surround himself with a funky groove and some sexy cool chick back-up singers. There's even a slight jazzy Steely Dan chord sequence in the 'Lie,Lie'Lies' section of the song but only a hint; nothing too 'arty' or to detract too much from the fun, funky vibe of the song. The percussionist really shines here. His tone is spot on and he's filling all the gaps so well. Then we have the muted trumpet accents which work like a charm. He sounds jazzy like he's trying to play as 'outside' as he can get away with. I can definitely relate to that. He sounds right to me. The outtro is like a long fade and yeah, it works for me too. What I'm trying to say here is if I'm in a bar drinking and these guys come on, my butt is on the f...ing dance floor and if I own the club that's as good as it gets !

Unique
Well done song very original. The backing vocals add a nice soulful touch. The outro runs a little too long but makes for a decent jazzy segment. The music is a unique combination of different sounds; to me it sounds like Elvis Costello meets Steely Dan.

Super Smooth... and OOOOH Yeah...
Who's that on the slide trombone? It's rare that a trombone is the star cat in a band. Love that organ too.. is that a Rhodes?
Nice tight band, I'd definitely stop in to see y'all if our paths cross. Funky, yet modern metropolitan.

Cool jazz blues
This song has a great jazzy feel to it. I do like the trombone playing. The backing vocals are reaaly cool and come across as being sung with real enthusiasm.
I thought that this song reminded me of some Steely Dan tracks - it has a similar style of instrumentation. Cool song!

Original and smooth
Nice smooth production. Nice easy feel. The back ups are very good. The song creates an original feel which is hard to do in this genre. The lead vocals are okay. Laid back feel.
The trombone is cool! The litle solo is great. The outro is good. i like the call and anser effect between the lead vocals , the back ups and the the trombone.

a blues jazzie band!!! sounds like Nazz.
Nazz is the mix between jazz and blues structures knew as Nazz...the odd genre only you can listen in the latin block of some latinamerica cities, backing vocals has some spellbounded and magic sound...the band is very retro vanguard ...thats is excellent...i like how trumpet run its lines against piano...outro very short...i think some delay or reverb be implanted there...

Nice big sound.
This song comes right at you. The vocals and back vocals really work together. Great horn section. The guitar is pretty jazzy and sounds good. The bass is really cooking and the drummer really hits his mark. A little of Blood Sweat and Tears. This song has a real good groove. The piano, although back in the mix adds a lot to the song. Real good playing... Good production and mix and the band's performance is quite good... The outro is out of this world.

Now this is happenin!
Fender Rhodes, Bones, and backup vocals. I am completely with you. Very nice drum set. Has got to be a small maple set. Guitarist and Rhodes are interacting and not getting in each other's way.
Listen, this is not a dis' but I can see that jazz musician of the muppets singing this one. He always reminded me of Joe Cocker without such a heavy edge. Truly love this song. Had to listen again. You got me.

Not traditional ..
This is something I am not used to, a non-traditional Blues tune.
Like the female back-up voice, I can see you put a lot of work in this tune. However, not too many people may appreciate the efforts on how many different keys you threw in there. All the musicians are pro's as they all play well together.
Maybe this is really over my head. If you have a chance, drop me a line and let me know what triggered this tune. I am curious.
However, it is original ...

blues
I really like the backing vocals, the ladies singin' together. Drums sound nice too, almost jazzy in the recording style. Strikes me as a soul tune on first listen as opposed to a blues jam. I like the keyboards as a constant backing for the song. I'm not too familiar with blues music in general, except in the way it influenced rock over the last half century, but this seems to me a very pleasant track. Nice work.

Funky lounge blues jazz.
Great trombones, superlative backing vocals, a nice beat.
The keys are flutteting around in the background and really nice funky feel, with the very subtle guitar sounding equally sweet and together providing that incredible atmosphere.
gave me that nice 60's upbeat cocktail lounge feel ala Astrud Gilberto, although the sound was no direct comparison.
Outro was cool. Pretty enjoyable all in all.

Studio 54 lives
This isn't quite my style, but its definately a cool 70's vibe. The trombone is awsome. The dynamics of both the trombone & keys really keep the song in the front of your mind while listening to it. The mix is very good.
This ending makes me picture a dance floor of sequen-clad dancers at studio 54 falling over eachother when the beat suddenly stops.
