Thanks for sharing your creativity with us. Will be checking out more of your stuff. The last band to hit me like this was Universal Congress. Anyway, I got the jazz background and eclectic influence right. I sure you are all young at heart.

Hey, you have a great attitude about taking criticism! You have my respect for that; obviously you have thick enough skin to put your work out there in the cold cruel world of music reviewers. Good luck, and I will listen to some more of your stuff.

Hi Gary,

thanks for your review. I always check on reviewer's music, it provides the background information to understand the review itself, between the lines. For your song, I think that the meaning is more important than the form, so I will start by that.

Beautiful Evil:

Evil is what gets the world going. It is an attraction for the spirit, like a second nature. Love is the result of evil sublimation, being the carnation of a beautiful lady, or anything else for that matter, is the "accessory to murder". Well there is a lot to say about how the Adam & Eve story relates to the advent of the spirit in a world of predation. Mostly because it is a unversal story, one have to relate to it in a way or another to express his relation to creation and creativity. It is a must. The way one's do it is not of great importance, what is important is to get the meaning of it

The sound world is a personal spiritual lab in which one can set experiences and extract the very meaning of it. Not everyone is set to discover something but the intention is somewhat similar for everybody. What comes to disrupt this experience is the way "evil" or the dark side of the spirit, "loves" to play with people's mind, to extract each little part of energy from a living body.

The relation to energy is vital but it can also be spiritual, love is the transcendance of raw vital energy. In that regard, transcendance is the way raw pulsions are translated into distanciated love and the will to serve other purpose than survival through predation.

n music, it translates in the way one treats tension and release throughout the composition. Stories gets people involved and drama is the way the spirit extracts spiritual compatible energy. If you love somebody or something, it creates a direct link in the spiritual world which can be used to discover reality through the eyes of the related person or object. This relation between the inner world and reality is not set automatically, the outside object must be inversed and re-formulated for everybody to get the knowledge one's require to create something new.

This transcendance is not easy to achieve, depending on your relation to your parents and some hidden aspects of the personae, one must reach the point of comprehension to get on the tracks of spiritual evolution.

The technical aspect of your song:

The chord structure is based on a 1-4 turn around, and sets the mood. This particular structure is used in a lot of latin music for a particular reason: it is the same chord seen under a different angle (like a camera changing the vision angle on the same object). It is a way to reach a basic extraversion while still centering the attention on oneself. Like a playground for a kid, this harmonic structure is safe. While it allows digressions found in elaborated latin jazz, it is always self centered, therefore the energy level is high and draws people to enjoy themselves in promiscuity. Dancing is the primary expression of that self-centered energy level. Obviously the idea is to open the mind on other's perspectives, and dancing is a way to play with these perspectives. The back vocals are highly enjoyable, like mermaid they are charming. Good work, and good continuation.

Thanks for taking the time to contact me, I hope to hear from you soon,

Best regrards,

Gianni Cassone
